2024 Formats for the Championships
The format for next year’s Championships are as follows:-
First WCRA Championships / 12th May
150 yds straight plus Veteran Crowns 145 yds straight
On 12th May 2024 – entry deadline 21st April 2024 (post mark)
Second WCRA Championships / 30th June
240 yds bend plus 140yds Superstars Veteran Sprint
On 30th June 2024 – entry Deadline 9th June 2024 (post mark)
Third WCRA Championships / 11th August
150 yds straight plus Veteran Crowns 145 yds straight
On 11th August 2024 – entry Deadline 21st July 2024 (post mark)
Fourth WCRA Championships / 13th October
240 yds bend plus 140yds Superstars Veteran Sprint
On 13th October 2024 – entry deadline 22nd September 2024 (post mark)
Review of Entry Fees
At the end of each year, the Committee review various elements of the Championships including that of entry fees. We have held the same prices for a number of years and, as the WCRA is not immune to rising costs, we have made the decision to increase entry fees by 50 pence per dog, effective from the 1st Championships. 2024 Entry Forms will be forwarded to the Affiliated Clubs and downloadable from www.thewhippetclub.com All other fees remain unchanged.
The Whippet Club Limited Show 20th January 2024 / Special Racing Classes
There is another opportunity to show your racing whippet at The Whippet Club Members Limited show on Saturday, 20th January 2024, to be held at Benson Village Hall. There are separate classes for Racing Bitches and Racing Dogs with valid WCRA Passports and it’s your chance to support these classes. The on-line (via Fosse Data) deadline for entry is 2nd January 2024 and postal entries by 27th December 2023. Any queries or help, please email secretary.wcra@gmail.com
