It is with much sadness that we report the passing of Paul Chappell. Apparently, he died in October after a short illness but it has taken till now for the news to reach us.
Many of you will remember Paul. A much-respected member of the racing fraternity, he and his wife Jo owned WCRCh Tusken Raider, the very first 32lb Racing Champion. He did a long stint as WCRA Secretary before passing the baton to me, and subsequently took on the duties of Race Manager.
Paul was instrumental in setting up our neutral base at the Cricket Club in Moreton-in-Marsh and was our “ambassador” there for many years. To him and Adrian Hardiman lie much of the credit for making it such a wonderful venue.
Our thoughts are with Jo and family at this sad time.
