Thank you very much to The Whippet Club for inviting me to judge and to all the exhibitors who entered and allowed me to go over their dogs. There were some very close calls. Glad that the judge of the other sex and I were able to reach final decisions without the need to call for the referee.
Minor Puppy Dog (3,2a)
- Mrs. F. Graham, Ohoka Tip Top, Handsome head with typical expression, good length of neck leading to well put together forequarters & good bone. Definite tuck up. Strong hindquarters and shows promising freeflowing movement although still very much at the gangly puppy stage.
Puppy Dog (4)
- Ms. G Z Perkins, Zeglynn Christmas Present, Attractive head & expression, strong forequarters which were the best of the class, well sprung ribs and overall a pleasing shape with definite tuck up, well-balanced hindquarters for age.He always held his topline well on the move whilst being true coming & going and this gave him the edge. BPD & RBPIS.
- Ms.G Z Perkins, Zeglynn Winter Pimm’s, Good head & strong neck. Well-sprung ribs, free-flowing movement in profile, and also true coming and going.
Junior Dog (6,1a)
Very taken with my first 2 in this class and it was very much splitting hairs I feel like these two will switch places a lot.
- Ms. L.Grisoli, Loroli Devil’s Stone, Gorgeous head & expression with a lovely elegant neck flowing to strong forequarters, well-held topline, and a pleasing tuck up. Spring of ribs is good for age. Overall a very pleasing and promising curvy whippet. Free-flowing effortless profile movement. RBD
- Ms. G Z Perkins, Silkridge Rapture With Zeglynn, very similar type to 1st with a head & expression to die for! Well put together fore & hindquarters, well-sprung ribs, and overall a very pleasing shape. True coming and going and had free-flowing profile movement. 1st just had the edge over him on his profile movement today.
Special Beginners Dog (4)
- Ms. G Z Perkins, Zeglynn Hello You, Attractive head, well muscled all over, pleasing topline & underline with definite tuck up. Once settled showed free-flowing movement.
- Ms. S De Lacey Munday, Starswift Sea Shanty, Handsome head, strong neck. Good shape and underline. True coming and going with free-flowing movement.
Novice Dog (3:1a)
- Mr. M & Mrs. J Strong & Ms. A Clinton, Crosscop Kiss Me Here For Mackjama, handsome head, strong neck leading to well put together forequarters, well filled in front. Good bone. The movement was free-flowing.
- Mrs. C A & Mr. B J Reeves, Veredon Louis Vuitton At Chrispan, gorgeous head and expression, unfortunately I wasn’t able to get my hands on this dog. Movement was pleasing.
Graduate Dog (3)
- Mr. M D Rankine & Mrs. A D Levell, Refton Kiri (IMP ESP), overall a lovely curvy dog with a handsome head. Strong neck flowing to well put together forequarters which are well filled. Well-sprung ribs. Definite tuck up and held topline at all times. Once settled on the move was true coming and going with effortless profile movement.
- Miss K D Saxby, Sandspring Sea Master, very sweet head & expression, curvy body, strong forequarters with good depth of brisket. Also held his topline at all times. Well put together hind quarters, free-flowing movement.
Post Graduate Dog (3:1a)
- Messrs M& AJ Cahill & Timberlake, Shine On Harvey Moon At Chipperlake, handsome head flowing down through his neck to well put together forequarters with good depth in brisket. Well sprung ribs. Good underline. Really sound movement true coming & going and effortless on profile.
- Miss C Tristram, Supeta’s Just Do It, overall strong well bodied boy with nice curves. Lovely head & expression. Elegant neck. Good movement, true coming & going.
Limit Dog (3)
- Ms D Webber, Lolani Ride A Wild Trail JW, sweet head & expression, strong elegant neck flowing to well put together front. Definite tuck up, well sprung ribs. True coming & going with effortless profile movement.
- Mrs. CA & Mr. BJ Reeves, Veredon A Bit Valuable At Chrispan, handsome head, strong neck. Would prefer a stronger front. Well-sprung ribs with definite tuck-up. True coming & going.
Open Dog (3,1a)
- Miss S J Shepherd, Kidaruka It’s Showtime At Oxana, extremely handsome head & expression, overall a super elegant dog with curves in all the right places. Strong fore & hindquarters all very well balanced. Very clean movement overall and effortlessly glided around the ring.
- Miss C Soffe, Zoraden Macchiato, another with a gorgeous head & expression also with super curves. Strong forequarters and a well-balanced backend. True coming & going on the move with an effortless profile, just preferred 1st’s movement today and that was very much splitting hairs. Really well handled.
Open Height Dog (4,1a)
- Mrs. BEC Trouton, Runnel Run For Fun, very handsome boy with lovely expression. Overall well muscled and in good condition. Well put together forequarters. Well sprung ribs, held topline at all times. Balanced hindquarters. Moved effortlessly at all times.
- Mrs. E Winstone, Lolani Moonshine Over Monelli JW, an elegant curvy boy with handsome head. Strong neck. Well-sprung ribs and balanced backend. True coming & going.
Open Lure Coursing Dog (7,3a)
- Ms. D Webber, Denimblue Willdo JW, Well put together boy with pleasing curves all around, good bone He covered the ground with ease, true coming & going.
- Miss D, Mr LR & Miss A Yeates, Winter & Morland, Zoraden Maserati JW, lovely head & expression, overall a typey curvy boy. Pleasing topline with definite tuck up. Well muscled all over. Preferred 1st’s movement today.
Special Veteran Dog (7 – 9 years) (5,1a)
- Miss S J Shepherd, Ch Citycroft Sundae With Oxana JW ShCM ShCEx VW, super head with lovely expression, strong neck flowing to well filled forequarters and good lay of shoulder. Topline just flows and is held at all times. Super balanced hindquarters with no exaggeration. On the move he excelled and was true at all times, he glided around the ring with ease displaying true power and strength whilst being elegant. Couldn’t take my eyes off this boy, BD, RBIS & BVIS.

Special Veteran Dog (10 years+) (3,1a)
- Mrs. JP Wood, Ardencote Star Gazer, A very handsome lad who looks so well for his age. Well muscled all over & displaying lovely elegant curves. Movement was very satisfying and displayed power at all times with ease.
- Ms D Webber, Dark Wing, how lovely to see an older boy enjoying his time in the ring, handsome head & expression, well put together front, well sprung ribs. Balanced hind quarters and moved very well for age.
