Whilst the cooler weather has finally arrived, the ground conditions are continuing to suffer from the effects of the extended heatwave with little or no rain.
The ground team for the Heart of England Club worked hard to produce a really good straight track for the 3rd WCRA Championships, however, the work and water required to prepare the ground for both the bend and straight tracks is a much bigger challenge.
The Race Manager has reported to the Committee and we have supported his decision to change the format for the WCRA 4th Championships on 13th September from a bend to a straight; the Veterans will remain as a Superstars Sprint over 140 yards.
Making this decision now will allow time for racers to enter the 4th Championships in time for the deadline on Sunday, 23rd August, in the knowledge that it is going to be run as a straight. Also, if anyone has already entered for the bend and does not want to run their dog(s) on the straight, please contact Mark Etheridge and notify him accordingly.
